Not to be overshadowed, the Osanpo, designed for open-air driving experiences, introduces a flexible vehicle concept. It offers a glimpse of Daihatsu’s mini electric sports car.

This battery-electric vehicle (BEV) has dimensions of 3.395 mm in length, 1.475 mm in width, 1.330 mm in height, and a 2.440 mm wheelbase, making it suitable for urban and coastal settings.

Daihatsu also presented two concept vehicles for commercial use, namely the Uniform Truck and Uniform Cargo, which are exceptionally reliable due to their compact size, allowing easy maneuvering on narrow roads.

“Our designers carefully considered the importance of efficient design that caters to a variety of consumer needs. These vehicles are well-suited for daily activities and efficient commercial use,” explained Kunita.

Uniform Truck and Uniform Cargo also feature a unique external BEV power supply function, enabling various uses such as mobile retail or other future commercial applications.

The interior and exterior parts are modular, offering versatility in adapting to personal or commercial requirements.

Sri Agung Handayani, Director of Corporate Planning and Marketing at Astra Daihatsu Motor, emphasized that the concept cars displayed demonstrate Daihatsu’s commitment to carbon neutrality.

“Our participation in the Japan Mobility Show underscores Daihatsu’s dedication to carbon neutrality. We will surely get there in due time,” Agung stated.

The Japan Mobility Show is a biennial automotive exhibition that was paused in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously known as the Tokyo Motor Show, it has opened its doors to journalists for two days and will be open to the general public from October 28. This year’s show also sees participation from three foreign car manufacturers, including BMW, Mercedes Benz, and China’s leading electric vehicle maker, BYD, making its debut at the Tokyo automotive exhibition.
