PASUNDAN EKSPRES – Rolls-Royce is set to transform into a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) brand by the year 2030, making the luxury automaker even more exclusive for automotive enthusiasts worldwide.
This strategic shift was announced by BMW CEO Oliver Zipse while discussing the future plans of BMW Group, particularly in the growing realm of electrification.
According to Carscoops, Zipse revealed that the redesigned BMW 5-Series Touring is scheduled to make its global debut in the upcoming spring. The wagon will feature the same powertrain as its sedan counterpart.

This implies that the introduction of the electric i5 Touring as part of BMW’s new electric vehicle lineup is imminent.
Zipse then shifted the spotlight to BMW’s upcoming new model class, Neue Klasse, slated to commence production in 2025.
He emphasized that the Neue Klasse models go beyond being just BMW-branded cars; they represent a new generation of products.
Within a span of 24 months, six Neue Klasse models, including sedans and crossovers, are set to be launched, all sharing the commonality of being propelled by electric power.
Discussing electric vehicles further, Zipse mentioned the MINI Aceman, set to celebrate its debut in April. However, he provided limited details about this premium compact electric car.
Positioned between the Hatch and Countryman models, the MINI Aceman is expected to blend characteristics from both.
Expanding on MINI’s plans, Zipse explained that the brand is gearing up to adopt a direct sales model in Europe.

The launch will commence in Italy, Poland, and Sweden, followed by a gradual rollout in other countries.
Direct sales offer various advantages, including full pricing transparency, seamless online and offline interactions, and direct access to an entirely new customer experience.
In conclusion, Zipse announced that Rolls-Royce is poised to be exclusively electric by the early 2030s.
Consequently, at present, at least three luxury car manufacturers, including Bentley and Volvo, are steering their focus towards electric vehicles.
