PASUNDAN EKSPRES – Sharp, the Japanese electronics company, officially held the “Sharp Tech Day 2023” technology exhibition. The event took place at Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan, from November 10 to 12, 2023.

During the event, Sharp showcased a series of its latest innovations, including prototype devices.

Sharp’s Chief Technology Officer, Mototaka Taneya, stated that AI is currently a major focus of Sharp’s development efforts.
This is because AI trends in society have become prominent and have significantly changed various aspects of life. This is precisely what Sharp aims to achieve.
“AI has rapidly evolved and become more valuable. Sharp provides equipment connected with the concept of AI, making AI a daily ‘companion.’ That is one of our goals,” said Taneya.
In the Sharp Tech Day 2023 area, several booths were set up to showcase AI technology created by Sharp.
One notable example is the AI used in car security cameras. This camera functions to monitor the driver’s condition.
If the camera detects any signs of abnormality in the driver, such as drowsiness, the AI will issue a warning and take control of the steering. Another example is AI designed for personalized use in smart homes.

This AI can recognize and differentiate family members, allowing it to control household appliances according to the user’s needs.
“Currently, AI can learn from microphone or camera inputs. In the future, AI will be able to distinguish smells. It is even possible that AI will have a complete set of senses like humans,” Taneya concluded.
